Southend Elim Church Day Nursery - Permanent Closure

It is with heavy hearts that we inform you that the Southend Elim Church Day Nursery will be closing permanently as of the end of day on Friday 15th December 2023.

Unfortunately, due to the current financial position of the nursery, we will no longer be able to stay open. All avenues have been carefully explored but no viable solution has been found that would enable the nursery to continue and still maintain its high standards. Therefore, we have no alternative but to make the difficult decision to close.

We have made the decision to close on this date in order to give parents as much notice as possible to find alternative placements for their children, while still providing care up to the end of term.

The local authority will be involved during this period and will be able to provide support in sourcing available places in local settings. You will be refunded any monies that you have paid in advance for your child’s care where this exceeds our date of closure. This will be processed at the earliest opportunity. We can only apologise for any disruption this will cause to you and your family, and hope you are able to find alternative care for your child for the start of next term.

We value and appreciate the support you have given to the nursery over the years and also praise the dedication of our team who have provided such a welcoming and safe environment for your children. The nursery has been running for over 30 years, providing a high standard of care and love for the children who have attended from the surrounding community. It is a very sad time for all concerned.

As you can appreciate this is a very difficult time for our staff, who have put heart and soul into the nursery.
